Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers is a home visiting program with a focus on child development and parenting. Through regular personal home visits we will discuss a variety of child development topics, parenting strategies, and share in the general joys and challenges of parenting.

Vision:

All children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential.

We partner with families with children prenatal through kindergarten entry. Through this partnership we,

  • Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development.

  • Improve parenting practices, in turn increasing children's school readiness and success.

  • Help detect developmental delays and health issues early.

  • Improve the health and well-being of families in our community, and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Kindergarten Prep

Will your child start kindergarten in August 2025? Sign them up for K-Prep!

K-Prep is a 2 hour class held on Fridays during the regular school year. This is a small class designed to give children without daycare or preschool experience a chance to see what school is like before moving on to kindergarten! If you are interested in signing your child up for the 24/25 school year, simply fill out the form below. We will be in touch to finish signing them up!

Child Development screenings:

Each child in our program receives a yearly child development screening. This screening covers communication, gross and fine motor, problem solving skills, social and emotional development, health, vision, and hearing. The screening helps both the parent and the parent educator better understand the individual child's development, set goals, and provide targeted activities to help the child reach milestones.

Group Connections:

These events provide families within our community an opportunity to connect with other families, learn new skills, and provide important social experiences for their young children.
